The initial weeks of the second semester focused on familiarizing ourselves with new courses and gaining practical experience in labs. Meeting new teachers and attending course introductions helped set clear expectations for subjects like OOP in C#, Database Theory and website development using WordPress. Teachers explained both theoretical foundations and practical applications, which motivated me to actively participate and build a strong understanding from the beginning.
Lab sessions were particularly valuable for hands-on learning. In the programming lab, I strengthened my coding skills and learned how to implement OOP concepts effectively. Database labs allowed me to practice building functional applications and reinforced the theoretical concepts discussed in class. Additionally, I applied hardware basics using breadboards and simple circuits, which added an interactive and practical dimension to my learning. These experiences highlighted the importance of balancing theory with application to gain a deeper understanding of each subject.
Alongside academics, I applied for the government laptop scheme, submitting all required documents and verifying scholarship details with the department’s focal person, Mrs. Rimsha Chaudhary. This process taught me the importance of organization, documentation and following procedures carefully. Overall, the first weeks combined academic preparation, practical skills development and administrative tasks, creating a productive and well-rounded start to the second semester. It was a period of learning, adaptation and setting a strong foundation for future projects and challenges.
