The first week at university was focused on orientation, which played a crucial role in understanding the campus, department and academic expectations. During orientation, the chairman and department heads introduced us to university policies, rules and facilities. They emphasized the importance of discipline, time management and active participation in both academic and extracurricular activities. Seniors also continued to guide us, sharing personal experiences, tips for success and advice on managing coursework effectively. Their mentorship created a supportive environment where juniors felt welcomed and prepared for the challenges ahead.

Alongside guidance sessions, we were introduced to our courses for the first semester. Subjects like Python Programming, Discrete Mathematics, Calculus and Applied Physics provided a foundation for our engineering studies. Teachers explained the structure, learning outcomes and expectations for each course. This exposure allowed us to understand the scope of our studies and mentally prepare for practical and theoretical workloads. Orientation also included explanations of lab work, assignment submissions and assessment methods, ensuring students could adapt quickly to the academic system.

Overall, orientation week was an essential bridge between high school and university life. It not only familiarized us with the campus and academics but also provided early networking opportunities with peers and seniors. By the end of the week, I felt more confident, organized and motivated to start my academic journey with clarity and purpose, knowing that support and guidance were readily available when needed.
