The second semester offered a balance of academic projects, extracurricular activities and personal growth. In the database course, I worked on practical projects that involved training a machine learning model, deploying it on GitHub and preparing a portfolio. These assignments allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world tasks, improving my technical skills, problem-solving abilities and confidence in handling complex projects independently. Working in a structured environment with deadlines also taught time management and planning skills.

Beyond academics, the university organized its annual sports festival, where students actively participated in various games and activities. Representing my department, I received a sports kit and joined cricket matches with fellow juniors. Although our team was eliminated in the second round, the experience was enjoyable and taught the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and balancing academic commitments with recreational activities. These events fostered a sense of community and allowed students to relax and bond outside classrooms and labs.

Additionally, this period marked my first Ramadan away from home. Preparing for iftar, attending Tarawih prayers and adjusting to the university’s Ramadan timetable created a new daily routine that balanced fasting, spiritual reflection and academic responsibilities. Adapting to these changes taught discipline, planning and resilience. Overall, combining academic projects, sports and personal routines provided a holistic learning experience that nurtured both professional and personal growth.
